Assalamu ʿalaykum,

Modesty is a term with various meanings and interpretations in all religions & societies as a whole. How does Allah define modesty? How was it put into practice by the words and actions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ? How can we, ourselves, then be modest in a way that is specific to Islam’s definition? This clearly important and timeless concept, both for Muslim men and women, will be the overarching theme for our next halaqah! In Sha Allah we will also cover topics such as the physical manifestations of modesty (i.e. the hijab ?) as well as how we embody this concept in our day to day lives by exerting self-control (i.e. lowering our gaze ?).

De halaqah zal plaatsvinden in het FNV-gebouw, Hereweg 120-6 in Groningen; broeders en zusters zullen apart zitten. De halaqah wordt in het Nederlands gehouden, maar niet-Nederlandstaligen zijn meer dan welkom om deel te nemen en zullen een vertaalde transcriptie ontvangen om te kunnen volgen.
